About KNDY
Where is KNDY based?

KNDY is based in Zürich and London, working by appointment only. We also take on projects in other major cities, Paris, Milan, and beyond, when the scope and project brief make sense. Each location is selected based on what the project requires. Get in touch to share what you have in mind and we’ll let you know how we can help.

What do you specialise in?

Bespoke joinery and built-in cabinetry: custom kitchens, wardrobes, wine cellars, vanities, libraries and full-home joinery for private residences. Every piece is designed and built from scratch around how each client lives.

Why no public portfolio?

All KNDY projects are private residences. Out of respect for clients, full project details and photography are shared during the initial consultation or inside each client’s private project portal. Never on the public website.

What languages do you work in?

The studio works in English. Written communication in German is welcome. All formal documents (quotes, drawings, contracts) are in English.

Process & portal
How does the KNDY process work?

Every project follows eight stages, with the Private Project Portal alive at each one.

  1. Initial brief. Alfred, our AI assistant, captures the basics in around two minutes and gives you immediate access to your portal with an indicative ballpark.
  2. Brief and alignment. Fuller questions inside the portal, two-way moodboard upload.
  3. Pre-quote conversation. A 30-minute call or a meeting in Zürich or London, booked one-tap.
  4. Indicative quote. Issued into the portal as a clear breakdown with a personal note from Sam.
  5. Design engagement. Production drawings appear in the portal, with one-tap approvals.
  6. Production. Live workshop schedule. No need to ask where things are.
  7. Delivery and installation. Booked through the portal.
  8. Aftercare. The portal stays live for care, warranty and future enquiries.

The portal is how we stay present at every stage, from first brief to aftercare. Documents, drawings, decisions, and direct conversation, all in one place, kept current, accessible whenever you want.

What is the Private Project Portal?

A single place for everything: documents, drawings, moodboards, quotes, invoices, production schedules, approval requests, and direct chat with the studio. Always current. Always accessible.

Alfred, our AI assistant, lives inside the portal, available whenever you have a question, with no waiting for a reply.

How does Alfred, your AI assistant, work?

Alfred is built to grow with the relationship.

When you first visit KNDY, Alfred helps you scope your project, answering questions about the studio, walking you through an initial brief, and giving you an indicative ballpark in minutes.

Once you have a private project portal, Alfred lives inside it. He understands your specific project: the brief, the stage, the files, the schedule. You can ask him anything about your project at any time, without waiting for a reply.

As the project progresses, Alfred becomes a more capable presence, eventually with voice, proactive updates, and direct coordination between you and the studio. Each stage of our work together unlocks more of what Alfred can do.

The principle is the same as the rest of how we work: considered, never rushed. Alfred is there when you need him, in the way that fits where you are.

How does KNDY operate as a small studio?

KNDY is personally run by its founder, with a specialist team. We design and build every project in our own workshop, end to end. Design, production drawings, project coordination with architects and contractors, procurement, production, finishing, packaging, delivery, and installation all happen inside the studio.

What makes the studio sustainable at this scale is the way it’s built behind the scenes. Each project runs through a private project portal that holds documents, drawings, schedules, approvals, and direct communication in one place. An AI assistant called Alfred supports the studio across the public site, the client portal, and internal coordination.

The result: clients deal with one studio, one team, from first conversation to final fitting.

How is KNDY different from showroom kitchen brands?

KNDY is a bespoke joinery studio, not a kitchen brand or a showroom retailer.

Showroom brands sell production kitchens through fixed catalogues, beautifully made, but built to standard door styles, finishes and configurations. The same kitchen is delivered to clients in different cities.

KNDY designs and builds every piece from scratch, in our own workshop, around the way each client lives. No standard sizes. No fixed door styles. The wood, joinery technique, hardware, finish and proportions are chosen project by project.

Each project is taken on personally: small studio, low volume, by appointment only in Zürich and London. Every client gets a private project portal that stays live from first brief through to aftercare, so they always know where their project is and what comes next.

Do you work with our architect, designer, or general contractor?

Yes, frequently. KNDY works alongside architects, interior designers, and general contractors on private residential projects.

The collaboration is built around our Trade Partner Portal, a dedicated workspace where the architect or designer can submit a brief on behalf of their client, follow every project they introduce, and see all related drawings, quotes, schedules, files, and conversations in one place.

The client receives the same private project portal as any direct client, and the trade partner stays informed throughout, without separate email chains. Trade partners working with KNDY long-term get their own branded entry point and a continuous view of all projects shared with us.

We coordinate directly with the project team at every stage, from first brief to aftercare.

Practical
How much does a KNDY kitchen cost?

Pricing depends on size, materials and complexity. KNDY kitchens typically start in the upper range of the bespoke market. Appliances, stone worktops and installation are quoted separately.

An indicative quote is prepared personally after an initial brief and a short conversation, free of charge, usually within one working day.

How long does a project take?

From final sign-off (drawings approved, materials confirmed), typical lead time is 12 to 16 weeks for production and delivery. Earlier stages (design, approvals) sit in addition and vary by complexity. End-to-end, projects typically take three to six months.

Do you take on full-home projects?

Yes. KNDY designs and builds joinery for full residences as well as single-room commissions, including wine cellars, kitchens combined with wardrobes, libraries and complete built-in packages.

Where do you deliver and install?

We serve clients in Zürich and London. Delivery is coordinated by us from the workshop directly to your home. For exceptional projects outside these locations, please get in touch and we’ll discuss whether we can accommodate.

What about aftercare?

We stay involved after installation. A return visit some weeks after completion lets us check every door, drawer and detail and address anything that needs attention. The Private Project Portal remains live as the long-term reference for care, warranty and future enquiries.

Blum hardware (hinges, drawer runners, lift systems) carries a lifetime manufacturer warranty for the original purchaser.
